Early Life: Rochelle Rao was born on November 25, 1988, in Chennai, India. Her father, Nicolas V Rao, has Telugu-German ancestry and is a naturalist, while her mother, Wendy Rao, is of Anglo-Indian descent. She has a sister named Paloma Rao, who is also an actress. Rochelle pursued her education at MOP Vaishnav College for Women in Chennai, where she earned a BSc in electronic media.

Femina Miss India: In 2012, Rochelle competed in the Pantaloons Femina Miss India South pageant and secured the first runner-up position. Later, she participated in Femina Miss India and won the title of Femina Miss India International 2012. She represented India at the Miss International 2012 pageant held in Okinawa, Japan, where she ranked ninth out of 68 countries.

Career: After winning Femina Miss India International, Rochelle Rao started her career as a model and anchor in Chennai. She later hosted the sixth season of the Indian Premier League. In addition to hosting various events and TV shows, she featured in men's magazines and the Kingfisher calendar.

Rochelle ventured into reality TV and appeared as a wild card entrant in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 6 in August 2013. She participated in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi season 5 in 2014. In late 2014, she co-hosted the adventurous travel show "Life Mein Ek Baar" on Fox Life.

In 2015, Rochelle Rao entered the reality TV show Bigg Boss 9, where she participated alongside her boyfriend Keith Sequeira. She also appeared in various roles on the comedy show "The Kapil Sharma Show" on Sony TV, which started in April 2016.

In addition to her TV appearances, Rochelle ventured into acting and portrayed Rimpa in the series "1962: The War in the Hills."
